A few days before the NHL play-offs, we have concocted a top 5 of the best fights in NHL during knockout games.

april 19, 2014: Chicago Blackhawks VS. St. Louis Blues

Let's start this top Ice Hockey with two lifelong enemies. These two Illinois teams don't like each other regardless of the sport, and this clash eight years ago demonstrates it well. Everything starts when David Backes , the Blues forward receives a hit from Brent Seabrook.

Backes remained knocked out for a few seconds on the ice, and his Blues teammates then threw themselves at the protagonist. Having barely regained his senses, still staggering, Backs also tries to join the party. It then ends in a general brawl, and Brent Seabrook will be suspended for 3 games.

April 12, 1991: St. Louis Blues VS. Detroit Red Wings

This general brawl breaks out during the 1991 play-offs. The duel begins between two players, and becomes widespread very quickly. Two-on-two takes place all over the ice , and despite the attempts to interrupt the referees, it lasts for many minutes.

may 21, 1978: Boston Bruins VS. Montreal Canadiens

Montreal is the most successful team in the NHL with 24 titles, and the one from 1978 will especially be remembered following the fight "between men" which opposed Pierre Bouchard and Stan Jonathan . The games between the Bruins and the Canadiens have always been stormy, and the one in 1978 even more so than usual.

This one was therefore particularly violent following the fight between Bouchard and Jonathan. The spectators all greeted those who were able to stand for long minutes.

may 14, 1987: Philadelphia Flyers VS. Montreal Canadiens

More than the best fight in the NHL, it's one of the most significant events in the history of ice hockey . Everything takes place at the end of the warm-up of the two teams. While everyone is in the process of joining their respective dressing room, a general fight breaks out.

Everything starts from Claude Lemieux , who decided to finish his warm-up by shooting into the opposing nets, a common habit in ice hockey. But this gesture surprisingly displeased Ed Hospodar and Chico Resch who came to terms with him.
